John – this is a tough email to write to you but I wanted to anyway to encourage you. We had 4 companies come out to review our situation and all of them presented their “one solution for everyone” proposals. Our son-in-law, who is a builder, came to visit and reviewed the situation as you did and then proceeded to hose the corner of the house by our bedroom window and porch letting the water run for at least 20 minutes.
He went downstairs and saw water pouring in through that black hose and realized that as you had said that was the area needing remediation. I wanted to give you credit that out of all of the companies, you were the only one who proposed the correct solution. The tough news to share with you is that our son-in-law was able to do the work. I would like to offer to pay you a service call if that would help in any way. You are an admirable man, worthy of respect and attention when it comes to addressing exterior drainage situations.
